Who are some famous lady directors?

Search
: female directors

Why: We finally watched Winter's Boner last night. As I was Googling halfway through, I learned that the director Debra Granik is from Cambridge, MA, and graduated from both Brandeis and Tisch. None of those places is anything like crank haven rural Missoura. And it kind of makes me hate her / the movie / everyone who had anything to do with it.

Anyway, we started naming female directors, and we got as far as Kathryn Bigelow and "the girl who did 1492" (who turned out to be Ridley Scott).

The More You Know: Totally unrelated, but every time, every time I hear someone say "Winter's Bone," I sing this song "Winterlong," which is apparently by Neil Young, but I only know it by The Pixies. It's like a disease.
