Answer: There have been a bunch! The most famous are probably Anne Bonny and Mary Read, both of whom worked with Captain "Calico" Jack Rackham in the Caribbean during the "Golden Age of Piracy" (the 1700s). When Rackham's ship was captured, the whole crew was sentenced to be hanged. Bonny and Read both announced that they were pregnant and granted temporary stays of execution. Both women are featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
