What is the gel used during an ultrasound?
Search: ultrasound
Why: I thought it was a simple lubricant, but I just saw a doctor squirt it on a pregnant panda on "Panda Tales."
Answer: All I can find is: "A clear gel is applied to the area of the body being studied to help the transducer make secure contact with the body and eliminate air pockets between the transducer and the skin." It is water-based.

The More You Know: I had an ultrasound at 15 when I had a cyst in my ovary. That gel is a major market online.
