Do vegans eat honey?

Search
: do vegans eat honey

Why: It doesn't come out of the bees, but they do work hard to make it and then we just steal it.

Answer: NO. Absolutely not. Do you know nothing about vegans? Well, pull up a chair. Let me talk your ear off about their kampf.

The term vegan was coined in 1944 by Donald Watson. Here is the original official def:
Veganism is a way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, the animal kingdom, and includes a reverence for life. It applies to the practice of living on the products of the plant kingdom to the exclusion of flesh, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, animal milk and its derivatives, and encourages the use of alternatives for all commodities derived wholly or in part from animals.
To make a long story short, the earth wasn't created for humans. Neither were plants and animals. Humans have enslaved the bees. Now we exploit them for their honey.

The More You Know: Honey was found in Egyptian tombs over 3000 years old. Whether or not it was still edible is up for debate, but any honey you've ever bought and properly stored is still good. If left to sit for a while, it may crystallize. Just heat it up.
