How should I store apples?
Search: how should i store apples
Why: I just bought a bunch. Sometimes people keep them in a bowl on the counter, but it seems too hot for all that.
Answer: Keep them in a cool, dark place. A cellar would be great, but if you don't have one, put them in the refrigerator inside a plastic bag. They can go in the crisper drawer if they are the only things in there: apple emit ethylene that can ripen other fruits and vegetables, and they absorb odors, like from onions.

The More You Know: Coffee is gross. Eat an apple in the morning instead. The combination of natural fructose, sweet flavor, and crunchy texture makes apples great breakfast food. Mix with a little protein, like peanut butter, to stave off hunger for hours. If you want to be extra healthy, use the low-sodium low-fat low-carb peanut butter. It won't taste bad because hey, you'll have the apple.
